When your BVN is verified, Snapiro replaces the first and last name you typed at sign-up with the name held on your BVN record. You will see the new name on your profile and in the app greeting.
Why we do this
- Your bank accounts are registered in your BVN name. Withdrawals only go to accounts in that name, so your Snapiro name must match it.
- It stops one person from opening accounts under different names.
- Regulations require us to know who our customers are. See what is KYC.
If the new name looks wrong
The name comes directly from the BVN record held by your bank. If it is misspelt, your bank has to correct it. Snapiro cannot edit it in the app. Once your bank updates your record, contact our support team.
What does not change
Your username, email address and balances stay the same.
