ERC-948

ERC-948 is an Ethereum token standard that provides a framework for representing and managing token-defined shares within the blockchain ecosystem. Introduced by Jordi Baylina, this standard empowers developers to create and manage these shares, offering a new dimension of flexibility and utility for tokens.

ERC-948 focuses on token-defined shares, which are distinct portions of ownership or access to a resource represented by tokens. These shares can be utilized in various contexts, including managing ownership stakes in an asset, granting specific privileges in a decentralized application (DApp), or facilitating governance mechanisms within a blockchain project.

ERC-948 expands the utility of tokens by allowing them to represent more than just simple, fungible assets.
With token-defined shares, tokens can now carry specific attributes and rights, making them versatile building blocks for complex ecosystems, such as decentralized organizations, tokenized assets, and collaborative platforms.

ERC-948 creates possibilities for a number of applications. It can be used in distributed autonomous organisations (DAOs), equity crowdfunding platforms, decentralised voting systems, and other systems. The standard offers an organised method for using tokens to symbolise shared ownership, encouraging creative solutions in the cryptocurrency field.
